Reporting Structure

Hi just wondering if anyone here works in a company who has ~>1500 employees and knows who their IT department reports to. thanks in advance

IT department report to someone. I thought they are the Gods of the information world. Or atleast they think they are

Well the place I presently work has only perhaps 500-600 employees, but I do believe the head IT guy is a VP.. He reports directly to the owner/president of the company. IT usually has a direct line to the highest levels of any organization. There's probably a good reason for this.. IT has access to **ALL** of a company's secrets. If they get pissed off, they could pretty easily bring a company to its knees.

Secrets? or do you mean they keep track of the MONEY!!!! If the machines would just keep track of all their own finances, then maybe my boss would report directly to the president.
