Allen Bradley 1746-NI4 4 channel analog card

4 posts in this topic

My partner and I were having a problem trying to configure the AB 1746-NI4 (4 channel analog card for a SLC 500) from a 0-20 ma to 4-20 ma. The manual that comes with the card is vague. It tells us that bit 2-4 have to be changed in the config. word in order to change this range. This is my question, HOW DO YOU THIS, IF ANYBODY COULD TELL ME STEP BY STEP. THANKS, REMEMBER I'M NEW TO AB.

Turn the power off. Remove the Analog card and set the jumpers (er I mean DIP switches) on the board according to this manual. 1746_td001__en_p.pdf Edited by chakorules

There are no jumpers on the 1746-NI4; there are switches on the circuit board that allow you to select between voltage or current. These should be set to current. The only thing you need to do additionally is scale the module's inputs. For example, if you are using the SCP instruction to scale the data, set the INPUT MIN and INPUT MAX to 3277 (MIN) and 16384 (MAX).
