S7 200

2 posts in this topic

Hi folks please help! I have been trying for the past few weeks to enable my PC to communicate to a S7 200 CPU216 via a PPI cable using Step 7 Microwin V4. I have had no joy at all with this at all, The programme tells me that I have an error and should connect a cable or set the baude rate. I have follwed the Siemens manual in setting up the PC-PPI Comms/ com ports etc. I think I am missing a vital part somewhere. I do use AB PLC's with RS-LINX so am I missing a similar software driver program for Siemens PLC's. All I want to do is upload and download at present via the PC. I feel sure it is something glaringly obvious! Wrong PLC? Does the 216 work on this system? Many thanks in advance

If you have installed Linx and Microwin in the same PC the Linx will occupy the serial port. Shutdown the RSLinx communication service in the desktop at right, bottom.
