I've never seen this error before.

Did you perform a download with this error?

1) "Connecting..."    generally means the PLC communications settings are not set properly.

2) For the validation error, I would check any external files the project may be using. For example, an Indirect Reference of String. Make sure the file name is simple. No special characters and using 8 characters or less.

Thank You for response. I created a simple one-rung PLC project and a new HMI project. After downloading it to the HMI, it still shows the same "Connecting..." error. All PLC and HMI IP settings appear to be correct, and the test simulation with the PLC is working perfectly. System version and Project version is 8.90

I called Omron tech support waiting on their call back.

When do you receive the error message?

If it's during validation, I would guess the problem is in your CX Designer installation. I would update it if you haven't already, re-install and/or try on another PC.

If for some reason you believe the issue is in the PT, go to the Initialize tab from the system menu and initialize all data areas.

I don't know that any of these actions will solve the issue but these are things I would try. Hopefully Omron tech support can shed some light on it.

Can you show the plc setup?

What CPU do you have?  Not all CPU's support eth/ip

Have you tried FINS instead of ethernet/ip?

From memory the tag needs to be set to network publish to be able to access.

Thank you for response. We use CJ2M-CPU34

We tried FINS also.

Let me publish memory tags to network and try it.

For FINS you'll need to set the PLC network with CX-Integrator as I don't believe the NS supports network 0. For EIP you'll need to setup the tags in the CX-Programmer Symbols section - check off "Net. Variable:" and leave as publication to make a variable accessible for EIP.

So your actual issue was your symbols created in the symbol table. Doing what Omron suggested would have updated your tags to point to the correct host. Your tags you created must have been selected to "SERIALA".

See below.
