Aveva Edge crash

I have an Aveva Edge project that intermittently crashes when the app attempts to create an .rtf file report and send the same report to a printer.  The app and reporting functions work fine most of the time.  The error message bar says "The Viewer module could not connect to the Run-Time. Please check if the runtime is running and that you are connecting with a compatible version."  

 

This is a local project, running the runtime on the development PC.  After forcing the viewer closed and rebooting the PC, the app will run fine.  The file is being saved to a local folder within the project folder.  The printer is connected via ethernet on a local, private machine network and works fine.  

 

I'm not sure what to even look for.  I turned on all of the dump logging features within Edge and the files are available.  I looked through those .txt and .csv files and didn't seem any obvious smoking guns.  Any advice out there?
