Connecting to a Micro 1200

2 posts in this topic

Hello,

I have some questions regarding connecting with RS Micro to an old 1200 (non-R) PLC.

I need to update the program in it, and I have acquired the original .rss files for it. As well as a proper licence for RS Logix Micro Developer Edition. However when I connected my newly acquired 1761-CBL-PM02 cable, unfortunately a B-variant, so some cut-out had to be made in the PLC, I still can not connect to it.

Upon examination of the project, the CPU's Channel 0 is configured as DH-485 for talking with an HMI panel that is connected.

I am assuming this is why it does not work with our bog standard RS232 to USB converter. Am I right in assuming my only option is to acquire an UIC, or is there any other alternatives? The UIC is so abhorrently expensive for a programming cable...

//Kind regards
