Xycom was obsoleted when Pro-face took over.  Pro-face is now a Schneider product, but if I remember correctly, there was at least one other company that was involved before Schneider.  Good luck finding the software.  Softscreen was DOS based. Someone out there has it and I am sure you won't have to worry about copyright or rules based on its obsolete status.

In most of the world, obsolete status does NOT excuse breaking copyright.  You can still be sued or fined.
