Anyone ever had this one?

I often use the simulator in GX Works 2 to test bits of code but now it does not work. {Version 1.91V)

I get the displayed message below. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but still the same.

I've tried several programs with it - ones I know worked with the simulator before but now don't

This is the message you get when there is a disconnection with the PLC Module.

If connection is faulty, there may be an issue with your communication cable. Check with a different cable and see if the problem persists.

Otherwise, have you tried checking that you are in fact using the correct communication type?

In the Project window, navigate to "Communication Destination" and check the current connection.

Are you using an USB cable or connecting through LAN? If you are connecting through LAN, check that your PC's IP address is in the same network as the PLC.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

I said it was the simulator that's not working

There is no cable - or even a plc.

maybe so but your software is trying to connect to a real PLC and obviously fails.

I appreciate that but there is nowhere to set it to simulation connection apart from the blue button

And without ever changing anything it stopped working.

I moved the program to another laptop and the simulation mode worked fine.

Something on my main computer has obviously interfered with it.

I'll keep investigating :)
