SLC5/03 FactoryTalk

Hi,

I wonder if it was possible to use FactoryTalk View ME to design project for SLC5/03?

The hardware connection uses serial DF1

Could be any limitations due to CIP network protocol?

 

Any suggestions?

We have plenty of PvP's talking to SLC 503's and 504's in the plant I work in.

Yes PvP = Panel View Plus, and out talk to the SLC's via RS232 DB9 ports and cables either with DF1 or DH-485.

The older PanelView Plus HMIs (v6 and earlier) have option modules that allow them to communicate via DH+, RS-232, etc. The current series (PanelView Plus 7) does not support communication via any method other than Ethernet/IP.
