Modicon TSX - %S4,%S5,%S6,%S7

4 posts in this topic

Hi there

Could anyone explain to me how these status bits work please?

Fo instance %S6 is a 1 second pulse and %S7 a 1 minute pulse.  Do these just give a rising edge pulse after 1 second and 1 minute, or are they set for a full second / minute?

Many thanks

Acorn

Hi Wasan

Thanks for your reply.  Yes I already had a look in the manual but I was a little confused.  Does this mean that %S6 (1 second) will pulse for 1 scan every 1 Second?

@acorn IF you go to manual pages 14 and 15 in the file Wasan posted you'll see that %S6 is Like %S4.

Basically the %S6 signal is a square wave of 1 second period.  It is true for 500ms and false for 500ms. The square wave cycle is asynchronous to the PLC Scanning.

Meaning %S6 could be true in Network 10 and False in Network 20 of the same scan of the program.

I have no experience to prove this, just how I read the manual.

Hope it helps.
