Tracking program changes

5 posts in this topic

I'm looking for a way to automatically notify through SCADA if a PLC program has changed or a download has occurred.  Does Omron provide a TAG or memory area in the PLC that tracks each time a program is modified/downloaded?

What PLC are you using?

The majority at either CJ2m, NX-102-1020, or NJ-PD3001.  I would like to do this for all the models

NJ-PD is a power supply, not a PLC.

There is no tag or memory area to indicate a download has taken place in any PLC I have ever worked with, including Omron.

I have used a product called MDT Autosave for change control and to routinely scan networked PLC for changes compared to stored library copies.  I've used it with Allen Bradley and Schneider Modicon PLC and they have modules to support OMRON.  Wouldn't be direct report to your SCADA , but could be a daily email or text.  Worth checking into if you have Capital to set it up.
