I don't think you can do that. The CP1L-E is not designed to be an Ethernet/IP master.

I can confirm IO_Rack's answer:  No.  It does not support EtherNet/IP.

Thanks for the confirmation Michael.

So it cannot be an EtherNet/IP slave either?

Forgive me for not looking up the specs, but I wanted to clarify my answer for the original poster. I must have been thinking about an Option Module.

That is correct.  It cannot be an EtherNet/IP slave with the built in Ethernet on the CP1L-E.

But can be a slave with CP1W-EIP61 board installed.

To talk to the SMC device, the network needs a scanner.  CP1W-EIP61 is NOT a scanner.  Two slaves can't talk to each other.

I answered IO_Rack's direct question.
I never said that slaves can talk to each other. Neither did I say the CP1W-EIP61 is a scanner.

What is difference between both ethernet modules CP1W-EIP61 & CP1W-CIF41 ?

CP1W-EIP61 is new version of ethernet module which is specifically for FINS communication?

Thanks
