Omron CJ1M CPU11 - ProfiNet - Siemens

3 posts in this topic

Hello guys, newbie here. Wait, where are you all going...? Don't go!

;-)

I've got *some* experience. And a job on my hands.

I've got an Omron CJ1M with a CPU11. Attached, is a PNT21 Profinet IOController.

At the other end, it is going to be a Siemens SIMATIC ET 200AL, PROFINET interface module IM 157-1 PN with a couple of digital input and output modules attached.

The hardware isn't here yet, otherwise I'd just jump straight into trouble. Probably.

I've got it mostly setup in ConfiguratorFDT with the GSD files from Siemens.

The question:

How do I map the Symbols to the digital IO at the other end of the profinet? Can I just set the symbol address to the IO areas that ConfiguratorFDT show me, ie, 3300 for the inputs, etc?

Thanks!

Yes.  3300.00 would be the first bit in that area. Each address is a 16 bit word, so 3300.00 - 3300.15 is the first word, 3301.00 - 3301.15 is the next and so on.

That's what I hoped. Thanks.

Follow up, question: Is there an easy way to create these symbols en-mass and map them to the right CIO locations for the Siemens digital IO? Something in ConfiguratorFDT which I haven't noticed?
