Hi Guys, I recently purchased a 1769 L32e off of ebay. I'm able to connect to the processor through the RS232, but when I try bootp the MAC address is not being detected. I opened up RSLinx through RS232 and I noticed that I don't even have the ethernet port in the device tree at all. I also tried adding the MAC address from the processor in bootp through the add relations button, but with no success. When I go to my Local Area Connection, I can see that I have established connection between my computer and the PLC. I've attached a copy of the RSLinx capture below!!!! You guys help is greatly appreciated!!!!!

You have to add an Ethernet connection in RsLinx.

Your laptop IP has to be on the same subnet as the PLC IP address otherwise BootP won’t work (probably the most mistake I’ve made)

edit - it looks like you added the Ethernet gateway but it’s not expanded out

Can you upload to a RS Logix on your RS232?  If you can do this you would be able to find out what the I/P address is set in the PLC.  Once you know this you can set your laptop to be on the same network and you should be able to see it then.
