Posted 17 Jun 2019 (edited) Good day everyone. Somebody can help me to to resolve the issues in our PLC. I am not a PLC engineer, your help will be highly appreciated. It is showing - Failed to open the Project file. Possible causes: 1.The data in the project file is completely damaged; 2.The data is created by new version more than this S/W; 3.The project file does not exist. Posted 17 Jun 2019 If you are opening this directly from windows explorer...make sure you are opening the right file (from memory there are a .gpx and a .gpxx file) this error normally happens when you open the wrong one. Posted 18 Jun 2019 (edited) thank you everyone for your response. i think i am opening the right file. because once i click the project button, there are portion for recently open program. and when i click the file/program. it display the error "Failed to read the project file" as shown in the first photo. Posted 18 Jun 2019 Version 8 doesn't tell us enough. What is the full version number? There's been over 115 releases of version 8. The project may be from a newer version. It may have files missing. It may be tagged read only in Windows. There's a hundred different things that it could be. Posted 19 Jun 2019 Well if you're using GX-Developer, there's about a 100% chance the PLC is Mitsubishi. Which one? They make quite a few. Posted 20 Jun 2019 Good day. Yes, it is MELSEC Q61P if I'm not mistaken. Yes I think so there are files. All files are marked as read only except for the program files. Posted 20 Jun 2019 Ok you have a system Q (Q02HCPU). Project files are for GX Developer. I would select all the files and remove the read only checkmark and then try again. If it still won't open maybe you can share the project so we can try. Posted 20 Jun 2019 As stated we need the complete program, the files you have sent are only part of the program structure, the RESOURCE folder is missing.
