controllogix and 500 on IPAD

Hi,

Is it possible to get RS5000 or slc 500 software on an ipad to fault find and troubleshoot or even make edits.

They have an app call factory talk teamOne have look on the Rockwell automation site not sure the details but looks like you can access tag values

To have access to the full programming software, you could set up a PC with the programming software and use a remote desktop program to access the PC from your mobile device. For that to work, your PLCs would have to be networked in such a way that the PC has access to all of them.

Thanks Joe E I just tried the remote desktop and it works, you wouldn't wont to do any programming on it but it is ok for fault finding/troubleshooting while on site.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I've used a remote desktop app on my 8" tablet before, but it was to do something very simple in a simple program on a remote PC (hit the "record" button from another room). It worked, but I wouldn't want to do much more than that on such a small screen.
