I am trying to connect to a SLC-500 using a Windows 10 OS with VMWare. I am trying to do an Autoconfigure in Linx and it will only try on Com Port 2. All other ports will say unable to open specified com port. Com port 2 will try and run through set up and then fault with Failed to find parity and baud rate. Has anyone seen this?

We need some more information, which processor specifically? 501,502,503,504,505, what protocol are you trying to use which port on the processor, what cables, etc... There are many different cables and configurations to connect to most of the SLC processors. SLC-500 is just the series and is very generic in terms of knowing what you have and trying to help you out.

Also make sure that your serial cable COM port is properly connected to your VM and not your host !

If you're using a USB adapter (like the UIC), connect it to the VM, then open Device Manager inside the VM to determine the COM port. Then use that in RSLinx.
