Posted 7 Sep 2018 Does this device manage a traditional NAT 1:1 (outbound only) or an enhanced version of it (inbound/outbound) ? In my lab tests I was able to ping the machine device managed by NATR (on private port) using translation map defined In NATR (from priv to public port of the NATR) but oI'm not able to access from public sunet to private hosts. Maybe because the 1:1 NAT is only outbound ?
Posted 11 Apr 2020 I know this is a year and a half late, but I am working the 1783- NATR now and wanted to post some key points to remember. 1. Always make sure the Gateway of the Private Side Machine points at the NATR private address. 2. The 1783-NATR is EONS more secure than the 9300-ENA, this is a plus and a minus. 2a. Plus you won't have a lot of private ports exposed to the public side. 2b. Minus you need to create a rule to pass Port 21 - FTP or PORT 5900 - VNC from private to public. 2c. Major minus - You only get five (5) rules.
