6 posts in this topic

I am trying to upload program from panelview 600 with a windows xp pc using true serial port. The HMI has device net and rs232 port I am using straight rs232. Is there any set up or can i upload from the memory card attached to hmi. The HMI has a glare and display is not visible, we are trying to upgrade to panelview plus. Thanks

The only problem that could arise if it had a printer attached to that serial port. Otherwise typically that port will be ready to upload.

Normally you would look at the PV's configuration screen. But sense you cannot, it's a good bet that if no printer is connected to it then it's probably

still set at it's default DF1 protocol. Just configure RSLinx for DF1 protocol and click on autoconfigure to get connected.

You do have Panelbuilder32 software to upload the program?

Using RSLinx and straight rs232 cable I set up df1 but no luck communicating. I do have panelbuilder 32

What happens when you click on "AutoConfigure"

If autoconfigure does not work you might try setting RSLinx up manually

PV default..

Baud Rate 9600

Error CRC

No Parity

8 data bits

1 stop bit

no handshaking

Are you using a USB to serial adapter? Not all work.

See link for ones that do..
