Posted 23 Nov 2017 Hi I am a beginner within PLC, I have attended high school and will attend an oral and practical test in January. To become a "licensed" automatician. Total 4.5 years of school and practice. (NORWAY) I have programmed a little omron before, but not with HMI I'm having trouble getting plc to communicate with HMI. I get CX-Designer to communicate with both PLC and HMI. Hardware: CP1L-EL20DT1-D NS5-SQ11B-V2 W4S1-03B Omron 3-port basic ethernet switch 3x Ethernet Cat.6 patch cable Thanks for reply
Posted 23 Nov 2017 This task is not explained in the manuals very well. Most NS screens are EtherNet/IP compatible which makes communications configuration very easy. The NS5 is not capable. Ethernet communications will have to be FINS protocol. Attached is a document with step by step instructions. The document explains configuration of a CJ2 PLC but the CP1L will be the same. Just the dialog boxes will be different. 1 person likes this

Posted 24 Nov 2017 the "IO Table and Unit Setup" option is missing in CX-Programmer The "I/O Table and Unit Setup option" is missing in CX-programmer (left side under the PLS) and is greyed out under PLC-->Edit--> tab. Is this the only way to fix it?https://www.myomron.com/index.php?action=kb&article=1384
Posted 24 Nov 2017 This is one of the differences between the CJ2M and the CP1L. The CP1L does not require an I/O table. The Ethernet settings can be found under "Settings" in the project tree. It's the last tab all the way to the right.
Posted 24 Nov 2017 Yes. You should only need to set the IP address. CX Integrator will configure the FINS network.
Posted 12 Jan 2018 Thank you so much for your help! A new question: Anyone got a nice idea for PID control when controlling two pumps with only one pressure transmitter? (4-20mA)
Posted 13 Jan 2018 Please start a new topic and explain what you are trying to do with the two pumps.

Here in the USA, "PLS" means Programmable Limit Switch. What does PLS stand for in Norwegian? Just curious, thanks. PLS: Programmerbar logisk styring = PLC: Programmable Logic Controller The same Sry for language mix!

I accidentally deleted my question while you were answering it. I was trying to edit it to show the quote.
