FX3G to Cognex DMR-8050?

4 posts in this topic

Hello Friends

I have a FX3G-24MR/DS and I need to read a barcode from a Cognex DMR-8050-0100 barcode reader.

Do I need a serial module? Which one?

how can I get the barcode in the program?

Do you have some sample program?

I am newbie in Mitsubishi plc, any help would be very appreciated.

Best Regards

A serial module will work, FX3U-232ADP module should be sufficient if you want to stick with 232. I've configured several Cognex devices on QCPU's with built in ethernet using MC protocol and it was a breeze, much easier than 232 (for me at least). I would consider using ethernet with a  FX3U-ENET-ADP. I haven't used MC protocol on FX's , but hopefully it's as simple as on a Q.

Hello

The problem is that the Plant has bought a serial barcode reader, so I have to use this.

Antoher problem, is that there are not space in the cabinet for anything. So, FX3U-232ADP could no be used. I have look a FX3G-232-BD expansión board, this could be above the PLC, so the space is not problem.

Do you know if I could use FX3G-232-BD to connect a barcodereader?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, you can use the BD card for serial communication, like the ADP cards. Also for barcode readers.
