I wish I could help you, but... The CQM1-CIF01 cable is not just a pin for pin cable. There is a "tumor" in the middle of the cable which has active electronics to convert from the CPM1A peripheral port TTL levels to RS232C voltage levels. It will not be possible to "just make a cable." There is a less expensive alternative "known as the CPM1-CIF01 adapter which ends in a male DB9 connector. See the image below for the "tumor":
