Sending an email from ControlLogix L43

6 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

I am sorry for posting same issue over and over but  I really want to get over with this one.

The way PLC program setup and actual structure of rack is different.

Could it be a problem when I try send an email from ControlLogix by using MSG command?

When I put 1,2 in the path field, It shows Au200_2 but it is supposed to be Au200_3.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time

I really appreciate it.

That's because the 1768 bus slots of the L43 slots count up from right to left.  It's the opposite of the 1769 bus slot assignments.  Change the path assignment from 1,2 to 1,1 and try again.

How about the output and input cards? dont i have to count them???

If I put 1,1 then it shows up AU200_3.

But I need to use Au200_2 where my MSG instruction exist.

Thanks for your reply

You are confusing issues here.

With the L43 process sitting at Slot 0, the left side is the 1768 bus (purely for comms modules, i.e. no IO modules).  Moving from right to left the slot number increase.  Your own pictures show you the configured modules.  To the right of the L43 is the 1769 bus for IO and the slot number increase from left to right.

Now understand that the two ENBTs are ethernet modules and serve as pipes or conduits to the outside world.  You are configuring a formatted message to go out the path you specify.

You have two MSGs, are you saying that MSG for SetupMailServer is pathed to AU202 and the SendEmail_EWEB is path thru AU203.  Then change one or the other.

Post pics of the congifuration of both MSGs.

Ah i see now why AU200_3 is slot 1 and AU200_2 is 2.

I have attached the pics of the configuration of the MSGs.

Thanks for your time and help.

What did you do to get rid of the error 100 you have in the picture? (In your first post.)

I am working on this same thing right now.
