Connect SCU31 and NS5

9 posts in this topic

Hi everyone. I have a problem with adding SCU31 to my existing omron PLC CJ2M. I already modified my CJ2M PLC in IO table. I also already program my NS5. But NS5 didn't communicate with SCU31 and SD1 and RD1 indocator didn't blink. Can anyone help me? Is there any step that I missed? Thank you.

Do you have the proper cable?

You cannot use a standard serial cable.

Check the NS manual, there is a cable pinout in the manual.

Hope this will help.

Hi gtsupport, thanks for your support. I use db9 male cable connect to scu31 and I connect refer to scu31 manual. Pin 1 SDA, pin 2 SDB, pin 6 RDA, and pin 8 RDB. But still not work.

NS5 does not support RS422.  You will need a RS422 to RS232 adapter if you have to use SCU31.

1. What protocol are you using on NS5 port?

2. What protocol are you using on the SCU31 port?
