Mitsubishi FX3U-80M RS232 problem

Trying to communicate with title listed processor via USB-SC09_FX cable. In Transfer setup I have set my comm port and selected 115.2kbps. Connection test is always successful. However when I try to monitor or read or write, even verify, etc if fails usually giving an error message, "Cannot communicate with PLC for one of the following reasons. Communications timeout, cable error, specified transmission speed not supported for connected PLC, Monitor condition set status if read by device, The project PLC and the connected PLC are different.

I have tried different settings to alleviate each of these possibilities and still the problems persist.

Any help is appreciated.

I would question the USB-serial adapter.  Most are garbage.

Mitsubishi sells an adapter cable that goes from the 8-pin round to a USB connection.  It still works as a serial port on the PC, so make sure the drivers for that are properly installed.

USB-SC09_FX is not a Mitsubishi part number.  Aftermarket cable?

Mitsubishi cable number is FX-USB-AW.

Yes, after market cable. It sometimes works but more often not. Thank you for the information.
