Is there anybody here that is an advocate "mapping" all I/O into multi-layered UDT's instead of aliasing a controller tag for every I/O?

Care to share your experience on this?

I do it all the time. UDT's and mapping save a lot of time and helps to standardize the HMI database, which makes graphic development faster and more consistent. Once you build your library writing a program becomes more akin to drag and drop than writing. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the stuff I developed over the last few years. It might not fit your process (I do pipeline control and gas processing) butI think it will give you some ideas if nothing else.
