Posted 6 Jul 2016 All, I have a 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B processor with a 1769-ASCII card that I am trying to get working on the bench. I have a standard serial cable hooked up from Channel 0 of the ASCII card to the COM1 port of my computer. All I'm trying to do at this point is a simple bare-bones hello world program with a terminal (termite or putty) so that I can verify my setup and understand how it works before I try to implement it on the plant floor. I have the card set up in alternating mode and am using the pre-canned program found starting on page 35 of the user manual(1769-um012) .This is my first time using the ASCII card I am familiar with the CompactLogix processors and the RSLogix Suite.
