7 posts in this topic

Hello dear all.

I have FT 7 View on my PC.

When I open FT 7 Studio I get the following pop-up:
"Cannot connect to addin object Name: Application Handler Cause: 80004005"

And of course FT 7 Studio does not working :-(

Ideas?

Regards,
Olesia.

i know this might be obvious but did you try to restart the computer a couple times? maybe the software has interfere issues with other software on your PC... When is the last time it worked? if it did ,try to be back track to see any software you installed that could cause interfere. if not try to reinstall the FT 7 Studio .Hope this helps!

Hi Mikey431,

Recently I have upgraded OS to Windows10.

And the last time it worked was on the same PC but it still was Windows8.

Yeah, tried to restart... same pop-up appeared and FT didn't work...

I talked to Rockwell Automation tech. support (in my country) and yes, FTV is not supported bu Windows 10.

I asked to check when it will be supported :-)

I had exactly the same problem after Windows 10 "Updated" itself, FTV had been working perfectly up till then.

To get it running again I had to completely uninstall FTV and then reinstall, all working again. There maybe an easier work around but this worked for me.

Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and latest Windows have a strained relationship.  To work around this, I highly encourage you to consider a VirtualMachine.  Rockwell has a decent partnership with VMWare, manufacturer of VMWare Workstation.

I have a number of VMWare Work Instructions developed.  It is one of the best tools for a controls engineer, in my opinion.
