Pneumatic question, 5/3 vs 2 x 3/2

2 posts in this topic

It looks like a lot of valve manufactures are now offering Dual 3-way (2 x 3/2) valves along with their 3 Position 4-Way (5/3) valves.

Can anyone tell me or direct me to information on the advantage or disadvantage of using the Dual 3-way (2 x 3/2) over the 3 Position 4-Way (5/3) valves?

Thank you in advance for your help

a dual 3 way valve is pretty handy.  it can act like 2 independant 2 way valves ( like 2 air jets or spring-return cylinders)

It can also act like a center exhaust 5 way (or a pressure centered 5 way if you order the NO option instead of NC),  just depends on how you program them.

i keep a couple on me at all times, it can replace several different valves all in one.

i did a project that had a bunch of spring return pallet stops on it, by using the D3W i could control 2 pallet stops independently with one physical valve.
