Posted 4 Nov 2014 Good Day, I would like to know how FX3U-64DP-M will keep cyclic data exchange running even if one of its active slaves is disconnected or shut off. Thanks.
Posted 4 Nov 2014 It will continue to do data exchange even with the remaining slaves if one or more slaves are disconnected, and give an error for each slave that is missing.
Posted 4 Nov 2014 Mr Propeller Head, thanks for the reply, but i would like to know how it will be done. Is it done in programming? If it is, what instruction in GX developer would that be? I saw in Siemens that they have an instruction SFC12 that enable them to remove a slave in profibus and the communication continue. I like to know if FX3U-64 have an instruction just like this. Posted 4 Nov 2014 I am new with profibus and I have the same problem. My profibus connection stops exchanging data when I disconnected one of the slaves from fx3u-64dp master. I don't know what to do to keep the cyclic data exchange. I have a fx3u-64dp master and four fx3u-32dp slaves. Please help.
Posted 4 Nov 2014 Do any of you use GX Configurator DP to configure the bus? The comm should continue even if one slave is removed. You will get an error for the specific slave. Remember that if you cut the cable, any slaves after the cut will be disconnected.
Posted 4 Nov 2014 Hello Sir, I had used GX configurator version 7.01B, does my problem has something to do with the configuration? Attached is the screen shot of the master parameter and bus parameter.GXConfiguratorImage.bmp
Posted 4 Nov 2014 Strange, I don't have any immediate solution but I'm pretty sure I have tested this before. Will check my old config's.
Posted 5 Nov 2014 (edited) I have also configured my master and bus parameters using GX configurator. I hope that you can give us some sample configuration if this is a bus parameter problem. I noticed that when I pull the 9-pin connector of the cable from one of the slaves, the RUN LED of FX3U-64DP starts flickering. Is there a way to keep this RUN LED to steady on whenever I disconnect one of the slaves? By the way, Idone my programming using GX Developer. Posted 5 Nov 2014 (edited) I may have wrong configuration or wrong programming. I just don't know what seems to be the error. The cyclic data exchange works fine, but when I unplug the fx3u-32DP slave, the communication stops. Please help us, I am using also gx developer to in programming. Posted 5 Nov 2014 well of course communication will stop if the device is disconnected. what did you expect? errors are listed in the manual and you can read error codes from buffer.
Posted 5 Nov 2014 I might have misunderstood something, but are we all talking about the master module? That the master module will continue to execute data cycles? Or are we talking about the slave that is disconnected? I expect that everyone is talking about the master that stops data exchange completely when one of the slaves gets disconnected!?? Posted 6 Nov 2014 You understood it right, I am refering to the master module. The master module stops communication with all the slaves when one slave got disconnected. I want to keep the remaining connected slaves to do cycliic data exchange with the master module(FX3U-64DP). I just don't know how.
Posted 11 Nov 2014 (edited) I had a similar situation with the master and 8 ABB ACS 500 drives as long as all drives were active comms was okay if 1 drive was switched off comms was hit and miss to continue. Left all drives on and no problem, never did solve it. I was using IEC Developer and GX Configurator DP Sorry dont rember version numbers.
