Posted 7 Sep 2014 I have a ControlLogix Redundant PLC System in test. It has 8 EN2TR remote I/O chassis with a total of 55 I/O modules used. The RPIs are not set and most are at 10ms. Got a couple of fatal errors related to watchdog timer. Looking for recommendations on RPI settings and anything else to eliminate fatal error
Posted 7 Sep 2014 Look at the diagnostic web pages in the EN2TR modules, and use the ControlLogix Task Monitor Tool (it's a standalone utility) to monitor the CPU usage and the packets/second for the EN2TR modules in your redundant chassis. It's possible that you have overloaded the EtherNet/IP modules and that some of your I/O connections are set to Major Fault the controller if they fail in Run mode. It's equally possible that the watchdog timeouts have to do with programming errors like infinite loops, or simply large routines that take a long time to execute. Start with the exact fault code and follow the troubleshooting process from there.
