S7 & VMware

Hi I am running S7 5.5 Sp3 on an XP Sp3 Virtual machine on Win7 Using a Siemens 6ES7972-0CB20-0XA0 USB-MPI / ProfiBUs communications lead. The problem I have is I can communicate with the CPU using the the MPI port but can get no communications using Profibus. Occasionaly when set to PCAdaptor (Auto) it will detect the network but wont show accesible nodes and in PCAdaptor (Profibus) no comms at all. Does anyone have any solutions or has anyone else had this problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

Hi Yeah the CPU is DP, the problem turned out to an intermittent fault on the MPI / DP interface. Two wasted days.........
