Our client is a privately owned company that was established four years ago and manufactures aluminum alloys for the following industries: green building and construction, military, machinery, transportation, and medical. Our client is searching for a PLC Programmer who will understand the maintenance organization and who will be responsible for building all new programs and will be responsible for programming changes to all the machines to support production. Plant is totally automated. In this role you will be "on call" 24/7, but most problems can be solved remotely. You will also be involved in continuous improvement sanctities. In a secondary role, you will help support IT functions for the company prior to problems being forwarded to outside IT vendor. You will report to the VP of Operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with vendors on design, programming and installation of process equipment.Follow up, inventory of respective spare parts and optimization of preventive/predictive maintenance on all necessary equipment.Implementation and application of Housekeeping and HES principles.Implementation of all needed updates and documentation, in accordance with ISO 9001/2000, 14001and HES Standards, of the quality system and the IT programs.Follow proper Lockout / Tagout procedures for machine lockouts.Support of all IT/IS/SCADA/Ladder Logic development and activities as well as being the local partner for all vendors.Communicate/report modifications or changes in third party programs, all safety related issues (e.g., Near-Misses, OSHA Recordables, First Aid, Medical treatment, RWC, etc.) to the proper management.Participate in the development of process equipment, equipment programming, SCADA system, ERP system and create the needed reports.Actively participate in safety solving processes.Will need to work every other weekend QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 7 years of experience with excellent knowledge of PLC's, (Allen Bradley and Modicon) HMI's, Ladder logic software/programming and SCADA systems. Degree preferred but not required.Excellent communication and interaction skills.Ability to work with multiple vendors to create programming specification and coordinate multiple vendors in the design and implementation of process equipment and programming.Ability to work with all levels of management and staff.Excellent understanding of Housekeeping and HES principlesSolid understanding/knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, electrical and mechanical maintenance as well as preventive/predictive maintenance and purchasing activities.Good math, reading and blueprint reading skillsUnderstanding of PCs and general network applications a plus but not requiredStrong problem solving skills.High energy level and the ability to handle several urgent tasks at once.Client is seeking local/commutable candidates as there is no relocation assistance offered at this time.
