Read Only Step 5

5 posts in this topic

I am currently investigating using a remote terminal to access our plant network. For me to get the green light i need to be able to disable the online functions of Step 5 (v6.6). I know that you can modify the settings page from cyc to none, but when you do this you can still use force variables and start/stop plc. Also can the other options be removed so that "none" is the only one available? Can anybody help?

Will the remote terminal in Cyprus be near the beach? If not the Waikiki Bar will do.

I do not think there is a way do disable the functions within the Step 5 software. There is a way to modify the "Block Headers" of the PB's; FB's; etc within the PLC to stop people makjng modifications to the blocks. The Block Header is altered to indicate that it is stored on EPROM instead of RAM Hope this helps Steve stevem@plcman.co.uk http://www.plcman.co.uk
