can IO scanning & x-way messaging co-exist?

1 post in this topic

As described in my earlier post, a Premium 575634 PLC is a modbus master to several slaves. Some of the slaves have their data in their IR (30000) area. These slaves also need to have set-points & control words written on their HR (40000) area. The IO - scanning service does not provide reading of the data in IRs. Thus I wish to know if the IRs could be handled by messaging; whilst simultaneously the HRs on the same slaves could be serviced by IO-scanning. Kindly note that the address field of the read-var & write_var instructions for Premium PLCs have to use the syntax ADDR(<string>) where <string> is the address in x-way notation..as used in my previous post. Would greatly appreciate any replies. Regards & best wishes, Raj S. Iyer
