can a SC09 be used to communicate to an A172SHCPUN? The manual shows a RS-422 port but not a lot of details. There is also a AC30CD-PCF PCMCIA card is this an alternative method to communicate or the only way? Is SW3RNC-GSVPRO-E the correct software req'd for this?

SC09 can get to the CPU. If I remember correctly, the PCMCIA card was to connect to the SSCNET for faster communications. I don't think it was required, but it's been a long time...

SC09 will get you comms. PCMCIA was SSCNET and SSCNET II adapter to allow faster comms and also diagnostics for High Speed monitoring and Motion Trend / Graph.
