Posted 6 Aug 2010 What do you mean "Running 2 PLCs together"??
Posted 6 Aug 2010 Hi I am thinking to make one of the cpu to be a master so it can read and write IO to the other cpu. dsc
Posted 6 Aug 2010 No method I know of will do that. They are both masters.
Posted 6 Aug 2010 (edited) :) Not at all. The feature is referred as "Parallel Running" and requires a parallel link adapter on the left side of each PLC (FX2-40P with fiber optic link or FX2-40AW with twisted pair link). Allows to exchange 100 bits and 10 words in each direction. Communication is being performed automatically, data writing/reading is done by PRUN instruction. Posted 8 Aug 2010 And keep in mind that all that equipment is long obsolete. Parallel link is a great and simple way to share data between 2 PLCs. But FX- products are obsolete. You should consider upgrading both to an FX3U, and adding the FX3U-485-BD or FX3U-485ADP-MB.
