Electric train shock

8 posts in this topic

My father-in-law first pointed this out to me. I was speechless. It's an amazing demonstration of arc flash from a phase-to-ground fault but in a very spectacular way. Warning: NOT for weak stomachs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQj3XrYc1ok

I seen this via e-mail. Why would anyone do that? I guess not everyone is educated about electricity.

Not for weak stomachs? I'd say just put a big Rated R in the topic title! You're getting ready to see someone DIE, this is not an act!

I had just gotten that in an e-mail a few days ago, it's pretty amazing. You can tell it's in a country where no one understands electricity, it took ten or fifteen seconds before anyone even realized what had happened and then they all run away, they don't even try and help the guy (not that it would have made a difference) they just let him burn on top of the train. What was he doing up there in the first place?

In some countries more people hang onto the outside of the train than can get seats inside. But what kind of idiot must he be to stand up and reach towards the wires? In my opinion, natural selection at work...

who knows if he was familiar or not? i guess he was not but some people do it just choose to 'go away in style' or tick of others. i was watching another clip on CNN about guy who apparently wanted to commit suicide: http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/23/china.suicide/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxlH740A-3g

I like it, no empty threats. You are committed , either jump or get pushed.
