I have generally used the ADAM 4520 (rs232 to RS485/422 convertors) and their RS232 Radio Modems and have found them to be quite reliable. That been said i did persue the idea of the erthernet i/o modules. I predominatly work with Omron and at the time i did not have the time or the inclination to write a modbus TCP/TP protocol which invariably the ADAM 6000 series communicate with. Therefore i did not persue this any further..... I might in the future... who knows.... On the issue of the 6000 series they cliam to have an embedded web server, i wonder if that monster of a i have a patent to everything company schneider is persuing legal action with them also.... (sorry digression)
