FX1S-30MR-ES/UL

3 posts in this topic

Recently a friend of mine gave me a FX1S-30MR-ES/UL PLC. He, however, told me one of the outputs was not working. Is there a way of checking the outputs ? I do not have the interface software. Thank you for your input Felipe

Without the software and leads there is no way of turning the outputs on to test which one has gone............ Unless maybe you strip the thing down and jump the 24vdc to the coil terminals of the internal relays to do a continuety test on the outputs....maybe not though :)

I would not say so. Try ohmmeter to verify for short circuit between each input and its V+ (or its COM for sinking outputs). The short circuit, if found, will indicate a sparked-through defective output. If short circuit not found, try to compare all outputs with each other. If using a digital meter, switch it to diode test mode. A significantly different output is probably a blown one. All of the above to be done on totally disconnected unit, including power. Anyways, what good is the PLC without software and communication cable? EDIT Sorry, did not notice that you are talking a relay unit. All of the above applies to transistor ones. Then yes, you need the unit running to force outputs for testing. Edited by Sergei Troizky
