A-Series Ethernet Comms

I have two A2SH PLCs each with an A1SJ71E71N3-T ethernet card. I need to send a couple of bytes of live data from one to the other. Has anyone got any example PLC code I could crib please ? Looking at the old manual, I'm particularly confused with the 'Open Pairing' and 'With/Without Procedure' settings that have to be setup in the ladder code. Any help would be appreciated
