[OPC] CJ1 & ETN21

8 posts in this topic

Hi there. Today a customer asks me to develope a SCADA software for my Omron application. He asks me to use WinCC on one of his desktop PC. In my Hardware configuration i have a CJ1 cpu and a ETN21 ethernet card. I've seen that WinCC support Hostlink protocol but not Omron Ethernet. I was thinking to use OPC server. But I don't know how to use it I've never used the OPC standard. Have I to install something on that PC? Need I a new software that manage OPC? Someone had the same configuration?? Thank you in advance. Valerio

You will of course need the Omron OPC Server (CX-Server OPC) OPC is a common protocol and should be supported by WinCC (but that should be easy for you to check) I'm using Omron OPC and dual (redundant) CJ1Gs with Citect SCADA, and it works great
