printing a Solaris postscript file on a PC

5 posts in this topic

I have a batch manager that runs on Solaris 2.5 (unix), the system does not have a printer, so I print out the recipes to a file. But, the file format has all kinds of postscript "stuff" in it. Is there anyway I can ftp this print file to a windoze pc and print it?

Would a ps2pdf convertor do the trick? If so check this out http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/gnu/5.50/Ps2pdf.htm Also is it a one off thing? Edited by nic00

I've used Ghost Script (GSView, I think), in the past to view/print Postscript files on Windows machines. http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/

Thanks guys, I'll give those links a shot on Monday. This is something I'm going to have to print about once per month from now on. It's for a management monthly recipe review.

No problem - I stopped reading the 2nd post at ps2pdf conversion. It seems nic00 and I are recommending the same thing - well, similar tools from the same people running the same engine. Their stuff works well, though. Edited by Nathan
