comunicating with panelview 550

I have a laptop that only has usb ports. I want to connect a panelview 550 cat number 2711-K5A5 to the laptop. I am using rslinx classic version 2.50.00.20. The laptop is running xp pro. Thank you Edited 24 Jan 2008 by fzboy

A medium quality USB to serial convertor should give you a serial port that you can see the PV with. Be sure and get one that allows you to assign the COM number and the IRQ used. Some times you need to select Com 1 and IRQ3 or 4 for older hardware to talk thru XP.

What cable would I use from the convertor to the PV and what driver in rslinx?
