Posted 2 Dec 2003 have 2 cqm1 plcs (cpu 43) connected via the rs232 ports the peripheral port on one has a nt 30 via a cif01 Is it possible to communicate to both plcs via the spare peripheral port on the other plc. Have been told this is not possible on cqm1 as the rs 232 is a 1:1 data link and networking is not possible unless a cqm1h is in use does this mean i have to connect individually ? Posted 2 Dec 2003 (edited) If the PLC's are sharing data then this is a 1:1 link so you cannot program either PLC via this network. Your best option is to upgrade the CQM1 to CQM1H and add Omron Controllerlink to each PLC. This adds extra cost but if your network is likely to grow then it can be worth while. This network will then allow you to set up your datalinks and also program either PLC. This network is also fast ie. 3MB so data xfer is quite quick. With your current setup, you can only program via the peripheral port and only one at a time. This means that you will have to unplug your screen. CLK is best option for CQM1's Edited 2 Dec 2003 by OmronFAQ
Posted 2 Dec 2003 Good points OmronFAQ, I think the baud rates are as follows..for a wired system.. 2MB at 500M, 1MB at 800M, and 2MB at 1kM...
