Difference between V and M memory

Hello, I programming Step7 Microwin for S7-200 plc´s. What are the difference between V- and M-memory and what will the best option? Greetings, mulderm

There are different memory areas and you can use all of them. Even SM. They can be retentative V and M areas. In user manual is everything...

V is typically used as bytes or words for numeric storage with M typically used bit by bit for single bit signals. It's detailed out quite well in the S7-200 Programming Manual, which is in the Downloads section here.
