unless this is just something temporary like testing, I would strongly suggest to leave programming port for programming. adding another port requires some hardware. if you already have CC-Link network for example, G4 module is very inexpensive. It is also atractive option as spare programming port. things become easier once there is an ethernet card because same card can do multiple connections (programming, HMI, data logging, etc.).

panic, I don't think the AOJ2 had any of those options. It's a really old platform, obsolete already. I also agree with Gambit that MX-Component is the best way to handle the communications.
