Looking for NJ/NX Communication DLLs for Visual Studio
FLAutomation posted a topic in NJ Series / Sysmac Studio
Hello, I am working on a project currently that uses a windows application on a PC to communicate with an NX1P2 controller to read and write variables data. I found a course on Udemy which has a Visual Studio project with OMRON DLLs that are used for these communications. I confirmed with OMRON that they do have official DLLs for this, but the technical support guy has told me he is trying to find them himself. I have attached a screenshot of the DLL references. I am really looking for the DLL libraries, aswell as the documentation on their functionality to I can use them to communicate. Any help would be greatly appreciated!- 29 replies

I am having a very weird issue that Rockwell was not able to help with. I have a new SE application that I converted from RSView32 and I re-wrote some VBA code associated with the project. The code works fine on the server while the screen is running in studio. Once I deploy a Client it no longer works. It just sits there like its waiting for my trigger to go off, but I am seeing it sit there with a 1 so i know it should be executing the code because as soon as i open the screen in studio and press play the code executes and my data is there. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Thanks

Studio 5000 View Designer Window Display
Jennifer Lew posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I am using Studio 5000 View Designer v4.3 to create an HMI on Panel View. I'm having a weird issue where every time I open up my project, the windows are displaying only in the lower right hand corner. This wasn't happening earlier. Undocking the window, expanding the window, uninstalling and re-installing View Designer have not helped. Trying to open View Designer as an administrator has not helped either. I know there are better HMI platforms, but I am basically complete with the construction of this HMI using Studio 5000 View Designer and now it is too late. I just want to add a few more buttons and I can't do it because I can't see the bottom of any of my windows. Since Studio 5000 View Designer is based in Visual Studio, maybe someone would know how I can fix this via Windows registry files?- 7 replies

C# CompactLogix Ethernet/IP Communication
ahmetnoktacom posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello, I want to do a small scada for Allen bradley plc on C#. I did a hmi/scada for Siemens S7-1500 plc on C#, it is working and free. I dont want to use Advanced Hmi. it is looking free but I can not use it in industries as free. so I decided to use direct C#. Do anybody has sample program, code, document, library, link, etc.. about C# and Rockwell plc communication? second solution and question, if anybody has no solution; I may solve it with modbus TCP. but I dont know Compact logix L27ERM CPU support direct modbus tcp protocol. if anybody has knowledge about the modbus tcp protocol document, sample program etc.. I can try to communicate with modbus tcp C# and Allen Bradley. Thank you in advance. -
Hello, this is a noob question on how to code properly. Im trying to do something like this on a code editor inside HMI (NA5) Page: For i = 1 to 100 Me.Button_"i"_Line_ON.Enabled = True Next i The code is more complex than this, thats why I cannot use the Animation tab feature on the interface to set Enable The number of buttons are 100, so I dont want to go 1 by 1. My poor knowlegde on Visual.Net and searching engines does not allow me to find a solution for this in a short lapse of time. Anyway to do this? Thx in advance.

I know enough Ladder logic to get in trouble. Although, I do have a few PLCs controlling machines that I wired and programmed and they are running well (as long as I can remember what those buttons I added do.) I cannot figure out how to get memory into the PLC. For example, I have a Counter where I have entered the following: CNT 0005 W1 ( I am driving it with a 1s clock and the reset is an external button.)) I then went to working memory and entered a number as position 1 (I entered 234) When I load the program and press the button to reset, CNT is starting at 0. When I move the W memory from PLC to PC there is 0 at that position. All of the boxes are checked when I compile/transfer. Is my CNT format correct? How does one get the memory to the PLC?

Hello admin, Im new to PLC domain , i have one OMRON CP1E N30 with in built RS 232 port and ladder program to run in Homing and forward and reverse motion. I want to control the PLC from a computer using RS 232 communication. From what little i read from manual supplied for programming ,i came to know that there are two type of commands C mode as well as Fins commands. My doubt is whether these commands can read/write CIO memory addresses that are used to set and reset the motor enable/disable in ladder program through CX programmer software? for example: in my ladder program CIO memory address 30.00 is the motor enable/disable address so if i want to control externally from a PC to enable/disable the motor ,which commands should i use and is there a format to send these commands as well as the value. I am planning to build a GUI in Labview to cotrol the PLC via Serial RS 232 . How can i do it ? Thanks in advance.

Comunicacion RSLINX gateway in remote server and Visual basic
arturo_papito posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
My intention is create a visual basic program with access (or excel), if possible with a Cold link (so I wake up when I need data only). See if you can orientate me about the best way and solve my doubts. I am pretty new to all this. I have several Allan-bradley plc’s in the Ethernet network. Several PC’s with windows 8 and excel/acces in the latests versions I have a server in the net where I have installed RSLINX gateway version. I have created a topic and I can see the PLC variables in there OK. In rslinx commnications -> I have set the click “enable rslinx classic gateway” I have run the OPC test client and it works OK according to some test Ihave found in google 8so OPC/DDE server is active etc) I want to retrieve Data in My PC from the rslinx that is in that server called BCNA08. I have colleagues that know how to run the EDIT ->copyDDE/OPC link and create a HOT LINK in excel in the same computer for other versions of rslinx (lite I believe) that they had for tests purposes. So I try the same but of course it does not work for a PC that is nor running RSlinx. My Rslinx is in BCNA08. How can I set a hot link (excel continuos update) and cold link (visual basic open/close communication). Any help or suggestions will be welcomed. Any good link to learn more too.
