  2. Basic HMI Graph

    Hello All   I'd like to display data in 2 or 3 arrays as a graph on a KTP400, does anyone know of a way to do this, I know I could use a trend display , the only issue I have is that the array will be updated in around 10 to 20 msecs per element, and as far as I am aware the time between the trend values need to be 1 sec or more. Any comments would be appreciated. 
  3. Is there a way to choose with %MW you use depending on the value of %SW49? For example, i have 7 %MW: -%MW4 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=1 -%MW8 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=2 -%MW12 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=3 -%MW16 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=4 -%MW20 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=5 -%MW24 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=6 -%MW28 that needs to be active when %SW49 :=7 so is there a way to say %MW0 := %MW(4*%SW49) on a operation block?
  4. Hi, I'm working in so machine basic v1.5 and I'm wondering if it is possible to change the start time and stop time in a schedule block with a %MW. So is there a possibility to for example say %CH0.??? := %MW5 in an operation block? And is there a page where u can see al the possible codes. I already discovered that %TM0.P changes its preset but i don't find a list of al those possibility's.

  6. Hi, i am currently trying to integrate visual studio with advanced HMI tool box to an Omron PLC (cp1h). i am trying to use one of the communication option which is "OmronSerialFinsCom*". But I have no idea how to actually do it. can anybody help me with the setting of the "OmronSerialFinsCom*" properties and where should i download the USB driver for my PLC (cp1h).   7. Hello admin, Im new to PLC domain , i have one OMRON CP1E N30 with in built RS 232 port and ladder program to run in Homing and forward and reverse motion. I want to control the PLC from a computer using RS 232 communication. From what little i read from manual supplied for programming ,i came to know that there are two type of commands C mode as well as Fins commands. My doubt is whether these commands can read/write CIO memory addresses that are used to set and reset the motor enable/disable in ladder program through CX programmer software? for example: in my ladder program CIO memory address 30.00 is the motor enable/disable address so if i want to control externally from a PC to enable/disable the motor ,which commands should i use and is there a format to send these commands as well as the value. I am planning to build a GUI in Labview to cotrol the PLC via Serial RS 232 . How can i do it ? Thanks in advance.

  9. FX5 CC-Link IEF Basic

    hello. I have developed project with 3 FX3U PLCs with ENET modules for communicating between them, and one of fx3u connected by profibus with 2 fx2n-32DP-IF I/O station (developed just hardware). This project still wait when customer accept it. I'm exactly sure that it will work perfectly. But now i think about exchange old and expensive fx3u to fx5u. I search for best solution for this task on fx5. I have a doubt with I/O station. Each remote station consist of 32 inputs,16 outputs, 8 AI. So i considered as a solution CC-Link IE Basic because no need buy additional modules. Did someone use fx5 CC-Link IEF Basic? As i understand ie field basic configurations like simple rs485 cc-link with occupied station, not like full ie field. FX5U can be the master of CC-link IEF basic with embedded ethernet with 6 slaves station and can be local station with FX5-CCLIEF module. But i not sure that i can use fx5 with NZ2 CC-Link IE Field Remote I/O. I have a doubt with configuration this station, because in CC-link IEF i can add this station and see how many rx/ry rww/rwr points i need, but for CC-link IEF basic configuration i can add just CC-link IEF basic module and choose number of occupied station. Slave 1) NZ2GFCE3-32D + NZ2EX2S1-16T (32/16) and  NZ2GF2BN-60AD4 + NZ2EX2B-60AD4  (8 AI). Slave 2) NZ2GFCE3-32D + NZ2EX2S1-16T (32/16) and  NZ2GF2BN-60AD4 + NZ2EX2B-60AD4  (8 AI). So can it work if not what device can be used with CC-link IEF basic? What benefits can give cc link ie field basic network than ethernet socket connection via UDP between 3 fx5 plcs? Or easier way using ST lite series and try to connect via modbus tcp.(as i understand fx5 provide p502 and modbus tcp)

  12. My intention is create a visual basic program with access (or excel), if possible with a Cold link (so I wake up when I need data only). See if you can orientate me about the best way and solve my doubts. I am pretty new to all this. I have several Allan-bradley plc’s in the Ethernet network. Several PC’s with windows 8 and excel/acces in the latests versions I have a server in the net where I have installed RSLINX gateway version. I have created a topic and I can see the PLC variables in there OK. In rslinx  commnications -> I have set the click “enable rslinx classic gateway” I have run the OPC test client and it works OK according to some test Ihave found in google 8so OPC/DDE server is active etc) I want to retrieve Data in My PC from the rslinx that is in that server called BCNA08. I have colleagues that know how to run the EDIT ->copyDDE/OPC link and create a HOT LINK in excel in the same computer for other versions of rslinx (lite I believe) that they had for tests purposes. So I try the same but of course it does not work for a PC that is nor running RSlinx. My Rslinx is in BCNA08. How can I set a hot link (excel continuos update) and cold link (visual basic open/close communication). Any help or suggestions will be welcomed. Any good link to learn more too.

    Hi all,   I have a challenge and I'm hoping for some feedback from all the smart folks on this forum   First some background  about this post:   I work for a company that builds switch panels for the food industry. All these panels use the same PLC unit CJ2M-CPU33. As of today we manually test these switch panels by checking if the wiring is correct with a DM (digital multimeter), but we do not check component functionality, such as powering relays or testing E-stop circuits. The reason is that we do not have a PLC program to control all these elements.  The ultimate goal is to automate these switch panel checks as much as possible, the only time user input is necessary would be to flick a switch on the front panel. The flow of information would be as follow: PC sends command to PLC (output Q0.00 - High) PLC sets output Q0.00 High (via terminals and some circuitry) PC gets signal back PC checks information PC sends command to PLC (output Q0.00 - Low)   Everything has to be controlled via a windows application  (Visual Basic) because that is what I understand. About PLC programming I don't know much about ladder diagram programming, I know how to build simple programs but that's all. But I will learn a lot more by doing this challenge   To get started I have search the forum on topics that relate to FINS command and Visual Studio. I've found some interesting topics one of which had a  ActiveX component for visual basic named INDAFINS so I will investigate what the possibility's are. Also I have downloaded some FINS command reference documents I need to study does because as it stands I'm a total noob when it comes to FINS commands.   16. I'm using TM221CE40T PLC with TM3DI16 DI extension. I'm programming it using SoMachine Basic. In the program I implemented a counter (%C0). I've read in the documentation that %Ci.V stores the current count value. I want that to display this value on a Magelis HMIS5T. How could I store the current count value (%Ci.V)? Thanks in advance!

  19. Omron CJ1M-CPU13-ETN to .NET Framework

    Hello People, In my school we had an assignment to program a Sorting machine using an Omron PLC and CX-Programmer. Now we got the assignment to make an HMI that we can open on our own computer (Windows 8.1) so that we can control various things of our program, such as reading and writing bits, and other data (To the PLC obviously). Now I only have very little experience in reading and writing data from a PLC (Using a PC), I have used the libnodave library to connect to a Siemens S7-300 PLC. With this I managed to read and write bits, and also read and write data to a DataBlock. We wrote this program in Visual Basic 2013 using the .NET Framework with the libnodave library as an added extension. Now I have searched far and wide on the internet but have not come across any good examples of how to do this with an Omron PLC. So I hoped that I could get some advice from you guys. What I'm asking is if anybody here has maybe a link to a guide/ example program/ manual that could get me forward? And if I can easily get this done with Visual Basic, by adding an extension, could anybody tell me which extension this would be? And where I could find it?   20. Hello all, I am trying to download a new program to a AB 1746-BAS SLC 500 BASIC board via RS-232 connection through a Windows 98 laptop running Hyperterminal. While the BASIC board is connected I verify connection by waiting for the board to print out its information in the Hyperterminal program and then enter "CLEAR", "NEW" and finally, "LIST" in Hyperterminal to wipe any program from the board and verify the board is clean respectively. Then I load the new program via a .TXT file using the "Send Text File" option within the Hyperterminal program. After the program has finished loading I than type "LIST" to verify it has copied over correctly. I than switch the SLC over to "Program Mode" via the key. After doing so I type "RAM" to select the program i just uploaded to the BASIC board and then type "PROG" in the Hyperterminal program. I than receive the "Programming Sequence Failure". If anyone has any advice as to what I am doing wrong it would be greatly appreciated. Below is a list of everything I have set and researched.
