  1. Hello good day ! I have a problem with a Panel View 1000 plus, I accidentally connected this device to 240V and the rv2 of the circuitry has burned. I am not sure what reference this device is but I need to change it as soon as possible, I would appreciate it if you could help me! Thank you

  3. Hello All, I will first state that I am very new to the world of PLC's. I do the control drawings where I work. I'm trying to figure out the 1734 Point IO, specifically the 1734-IA4. The manual states "Module power is supplied from the internal power bus". Does this mean I do not need to run ANY power wires to the modules? The installation manual shows points 4,5,6 and 7 as "L1" wires?? The system I am designing, from left to right has the following: 1794-PS13, 1734-AENT, 1734-FPD, Followed by Qty. 11 1734-IA4's. I'm bringing 120VAC and 24VDC to the 1794-PS13. From the 120VAC terminals, I run wires to the FPD. From the 24VDC terminals, I run wires to the 1734-AENT. On the first 1734-IA4, I would think I should bring any power there, because its already back plane fed...….correct? Or DO I run power wires there? Thanks in advance
  4. Device point error between Parameter and PLC

    Hello all, I am a beginner with PLCs programming. I have an issue on GX Developer programming software from Melsoft trying to program my Mitsubishi Q-series PLC. CPU is Q03UDCPU. When the program is written and I try to upload it to the PLC, with the write to PLC window, I check -Program -- MAIN and -Prameter -- PLC/Network/Remote, click EXECUTE and a message appears : "Device point that is set in parameter is not match the device point in PLC". I can't fix it. In Parameter - PLC Parameter - Q parameter setting (window) - I/O assignment tab : I have (see image). Whe I use CHECK button it says there is no error. The X41 input device is plugged on slot 1/00. I am making this folowing the instructions a PDF I found on the Mitsubishi electric's wesite : Q-series basic course (for GX Developer).   5.   Hi all, Iam currently working with a migration project from Rsview32 to FTView. I was able to convert the RSView32 SCADA to FTView successfully. Current scenario is like RSView32 (which was the existing pcs) SCADA is running in two stand alone PCs and Iam trying to line up the new Factory talk view SCADA in another system.Communication is taken from same ethernet switch to which all ethernet cables from 5PLCs in the field are terminated and from which RSView32 scada has taken itz communication. PLCs used there are 2 No.of  1747 L532E slc 5/03 OS302 Ser c Frn 10 & later and 3 Nos of 1747 L533E slc 5/03 OS302 aer c Frn 10 & later. communication taken via net eni (1761 NetEni) Ftview installed system is Windows 10 pro OS) Issue is while RSView32 scada is working properly, Factory talk view is not getting neither online tags nor able to play display for those linked with L533E processor.But everything is fine with L532E processor. I just tried with downloading L533E program to L532E processor and everything was getting. So am i missing something or what should i do to get proper communication with L533E processor.   plz help..Iam a beginner in this field.
  6. Good day, I would like to extract the FT View SE Alarm Log. We currently have got a Excel spreadsheet set up with a connection to the FTAE SQL Database.  When I refresh the data, Excel give an error telling me that the data is more than what can be displayed in a spreadsheet. So it then discards the latest data. I have tried setting a database limit in the Factory Talk Administration console to only keep the last 60 days worth of data but it does not seem to take effect. I get data from January 2017 up to 15 October 2018. Is there a way to configure the ODBC connection in excel to only give me the data for the last 30 days or is there someone that can help me to limit the size of the database? I have attached the current connection config.
  7. Hi my problem may have a simple solution but i cant work it out. I need to use the Divide function but it wont let me use a decimal point in either Source A or Source B. Is there a way to use a decimal point in Logix 500 Math instructions? Im using an AB Micrologix 1400 PLC. Can you only use math instructions with whole numbers? is there a way around this? Thanks James

  9. I am definitely a newbie in the world of PLC's. So I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. I do the electrical design for PLC's and have only done this for a few short months. I am currently working with a Point IO PLC. This is the first one I've seen. Because of the qty. of input and output modules, we had to add 1734-FPD and 1734-EPAC to boost the power. Easy enough, I get that. I bring power to the 1734-AENTR.....then, do I hard wire to the next module, or are the next adjoining input/outs connected view the internal power bus? Same question goes for the 1734-FPD and 1734-EPAC. I understand to bring power to those devices, but do I hard wire to the first module or is it automatically connected via internal power bus? I have done my research before I posted on this site. I think some of the installation manuals for these devices are conflicting., I think that's why I'm so confused. Thoughts? Does anyone know of a good trusted manual for such a question. Thanks in advance

    Hi After updating CXS to ver. 3.4.1 I can't see point address I can see them when I editing but in the list form only the array len. is shown. When I enter a new point I can see the address. Anybody now hove to solve that ? Banker

We have an auto-clave unit purchased at auction roughly 4 years ago.   CompactLogix L32e and PanelView Plus 1000.  All has been working for us until last week.  Suddenly, the program seems to freeze up after around 30 seconds.  I can still touch the panelview and the touches are registered, (the mouse icon moves) but the program does not respond and I can tell the program is frozen because the clock which displays seconds stops counting. When i boot into safe mode (clicking white box on boot) the system does not seem to freeze at all.  I am able to navigate those menus w/o issue.  We don't have any of the software to connect to the PLC.  I understand this is a somewhat broad issue, but does anyone have any idease where i can start in troubleshooting this? or is their any further info i can provide which would be helpful?

I got into a project were they have 20 panelviews plus 1500 around the building, and they want to be able to serrate the displays accessible by the users based on the physical location of the panelview, for example Room1 should not see room2 but can see room3, at this moment we have a complete application with all the screens that have been downloaded to all panelviews, in order to avoid maintain 20 different ME applications I would like to ask if any of you had this problem before or any ideas on how to go forward with it.   Thanks
  15. Hello, I am new in PLCs, I hope you can help me. We are working to communicate point I/O 1734-AENT Series B to PC (LabVIEW) by Ethernet/IP. We need to read inputs from slots and need to write output to slots and the library we are using in LabVIEW needs class, instance and attribute parameter to comunícate with specific slot. I read those parameters you can configure that in the web page allen bradley (you put the IP point I/O in the browser internet) and then configure those parameters in the tab diagnostic messaging but for my case that tab is not visible, so I could not configure this part. Can anybody help for that? and help me to give me more information about class, instance and attribute CIP (Common Industrial Protocol).   16. Hey, this is probably a stupid question, but how do I delete old FactoryTalk View Programs. They are the ones that I have uploaded from a PanelView Plus via the "Transfer Utility" and then restored runtime using the "Application Manager". I open up FactoryTalk View Studio and I can see a list of all the runtime applications or I can create a new one. My question is, where are these applications stored by default? I have a bunch of old ones and test programs that I want to delete that are just cluttering up my list. I attached a screenshot to show you exactly what I'm talking about. Hello I downloaded a .mer file on the Panel view 1000 but it shows errors on the display graphics. i have configured the Rslinx communication several times by selecting the rigt PLC in Design and Runtime mode. I am using Facotry Talk view 8.20 and creating 5.10 runtime file. Please advice. I was able to correctly download and use the HMI on a similar machine.     Hello, I need to build a project with PID function. The main objective is to work with pressure (sensor is 0-16bar 4-20mA). If pressure is between 5 and 7bar (7 is set point), I want PID to give scaled values at my analog output. Pressure <= 5bar = 100% Pressure > 5bar and < 7bar = scaled values Pressure >= 7bar = 0% So actually as I understand, I need need a second set point. The HIGH set point is 7. The LOW set point is 5. How am I going to give the low set point?   Thanks in advance!!!

I am using FactoryTalk View Studio SE 8.20 to develop SCADA Application, and whenever I tried to open Tag Database it shows error "an error occurred while attempting to open the tag database editor" and not able to Open Tag database.   21. Hello I have a panel view 550 communicating with a micrologix 1500 LRP works normally, I need to change some alarm messages in it, but when I try to upload to the PC I can not. I have no experience with panelview, I have a UIC 1747 and I can see the view panel via RSlinx AB_UIC-1 DH485 STA: 0 COM 5. But when I use panelbuilder 32 to upload only the error. Can anybody help me.

Thanks for your time.  We have purchased from auction a Getinge Autoclave (sterilizer) with Allen-Bradley controls (CompactLogix L32E).  The machine has a PanelView Plus 1000 installed.  A CD came with the machine w/ the following files.. HMI Project - (.apa file) Runtime (.mer file) Their is also a compact flash card installed in the CompactLogix L32E.  On the Panel View, their is an external Compact Flash slot, but no card, and on the inside of the panel view (if i remove the back cover) their is a compact flash card slot with a card installed.  I haven't checked what is on either of those cards yet.. We cannot get the program to load on the panel view. When the machine is powered on, the panel view goes through a quick dos setup screen and then the screen turns blue and we are stuck with an hour glass icon.  The icon will move depending upon where you touch on the screen.  I can boot the panel view in safe mode (by hitting the default button, then reset) at which point I get a message stating that the machines files may be corrupted and leaves me the options to Download new Firmware, or Continue.  Hitting Continue nothing happens, and choosing Download gives me Ethernet, or Serial options.  The Panel View is connected to the PLC via ethernet so I choose this option and it  gets stuck at this point. We do not want to make any changes to the program, but just to get it to run on the machine.  We do not have ANY of the software. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Craig

Please if anyone can help me, recently I installed a redundancy in my Factory View V8.20 server, but started to show some errors: My alarm banner and event simply disappeared and now I can not read tag from my opc server (KeepServer Modbus), I see this tag in the studio, but at runtime they do not communicate. * Patches are up date.   24. I have entered the messages many times into the Alarm Setup but every time i re-open the alarm setup, every message that has the Trigger Value=1 will be deleted.  Anyone have a similar issue?

Would someone please help me how to convert an integer to ascii?   For example if the output tag is an ascii string, of 3 characters and my numeric input is integer.   When user input a value of 5, I would like the input value to be convert and assign to output ascii string tag of "005".  How do I set the conversion format in either tag assignment or tag expression?
